If you are connecting to the Internet through a proxy or firewall, make sure that Port 25 is not blocked.
To fight spam, many ISPs (Internet Service Providers) have started to block mail servers other than their own to access Port 25. The best way to prove this is to run the following syntax from your computer and see what the output is like:
(Note: Make sure that you replace yourdomain.com with the actual domain of your hosting account.)
telnet yourdomain.com 25
If Port 25 returns:
Connecting To yourdomain.com...Could not open connection to the host, on port 25: Connect failed.
It means that Port 25 has being blocked by your ISP. For a permanent solution, please use your ISP's SMTP server instead. We no longer offer Port 26 as an alternate SMTP port because more and more ISPs are blocking this port as well. Therefore, there is no point for us to continue opening new SMTP ports when ISPs are determined to prevent their customers from using third-party SMTP servers through their network.
